Maharashtra minister Uday Samant on Sunday mentioned though the Centre’s Unlock tips say that colleges and faculties will stay shut until September 30, the UGC desires the final-year exams to be carried out by that point.

Upholding the UGC resolution to conduct final-year examinations, the Supreme Court had on Friday mentioned these college students can’t be promoted with out exams.

“How can examinations be held by September 30 if schools and colleges are closed. What exactly should the state governments and students do?” Samant mentioned in a tweet.

The Higher and Technical Education Minister mentioned the committee of vice chancellors, which met on Sunday, will submit its report back to the state authorities on Monday.

The minister had on Saturday mentioned {that a} six-member committee headed by Dr Suhas Pednekar, vice chancellor of Mumbai University, has been shaped to provide suggestions about easy methods to conduct examinations.

The Union Home Ministry on Saturday issued Unlock four tips, as per which, colleges, faculties and different academic and training establishments will stay closed for college students until September 30, with some relaxations for college students of lessons 9 to 12. — PTI
