Gujarat drug haul: NIA chargesheets 6 Pakistani nationals

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against seven persons, six of them Pakistani nationals, in a case pertaining to seizure of 237 kg narcotics in Gujarat.

In a statement today, the agency said the chargesheet was filed yesterday before a special NIA court in Ahmedabad. Safdar Ali, Alahi Daad Angiyara, Azim Khan, Abdul Aziz, Abdul Gafur, Mohamad Malah, all from Karachi, have been named in the chargesheet along with Ramjhan of Gujarat, the NIA said in the statement.

The case pertains to the seizure of 237 kg narcotics from Pakistani vessel Al-Madina near Jakhau Port in Kutch, Gujarat. The accused had tried to bring in 330 kg drugs in Gujarat, it said. They were intercepted by the Indian Coast Guards on May 21, 2019.
