Chairing a high-level review meeting on the preparedness to deal with the situation arising out of Cyclone Tauktae in five coastal states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked officials to take all measures to ensure people were safely evacuated.
According to an official statement, the PM asked the authorities concerned to ensure maintenance of essential services like power, telecommunications, health and drinking water.
The PM also stressed “special preparedness” for Covid management in hospitals, vaccine cold chain, power backup and storage of essential medicines in vulnerable locations in view of the cyclone.
