To promote gender equality, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has put in indicators at a site visitors junction within the Dadar space of Mumbai with feminine figures.

Maharashtra’s atmosphere and tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray took to the microblogging web site to share the photographs of the newly-installed indicators at Dadar junction on Saturday.

“If you have passed by Dadar, you will see something that will make you feel proud. @mybmcWardGN is ensuring gender equality with a simple idea – the signals now have women too,” he tweeted.

“Applauding the effort of @mybmcWardGN Assistant Commissioner @DighavkarKiran ji on this. Thank you MLA @misadasarvankar ji, @mayor_mumbai @KishoriPednekar ji and MC Chahal ji for your support!,” he continued.

“And Ofcourse to add, the constant efforts of Leader of the House in BMC and local corporator Vishakha Raut ji to this,” he ended.
