Forest residence guard mowed down by members of unlawful mining mafia in Sariska reserve

Jaipur, July 27

A forest residence guard was mowed down by a tractor when he alongside together with his colleague tried to cease suspected members of a mining mafia contained in the Sariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar, police stated on Monday. 

The accused are but to be arrested. The tractor has been seized, they stated.

The sufferer, Kewal Singh, was rushed to a hospital after the incident on Sunday however he succumbed to accidents, the police stated.                       

“We are investigating the case based on the details provided by the guard who was present with the deceased at the time of the incident. The accused will be arrested soon,” Alwar Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam stated.         

According to officers, forest residence guard Kewal Singh and Rajwinder Singh had been patrolling in Baldevgarh space of the reserve once they got here throughout suspected unlawful mining exercise.

Divisional Forest Officer Seduram Yadav stated, “They found a few people illegally transporting gravel in the forest area. When the guards tried to stop them, they mowed down one of them with a tractor.”     

An FIR was registered in opposition to the tractor driver for homicide and obstructing public servant from discharge of his duties. Further investigation is on, police stated. PTI
