Five employees had been killed in an explosion at a bio-CNG plant in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district on Saturday afternoon, the police mentioned.
The incident happened on the sugar and distillery plant of Manas Agro Industries and Infrastructure Limited at Bela in Umred tehsil.
A biogas leakage within the bio-digester throughout welding work led to the blast, mentioned firm spokesperson Nitin Kulkarni. Sarang Gadkari, son of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, is a director of the corporate, the spokesperson added. — PTI
