The CRPF and BSF have agreed to the proposal of recruiting transgenders of their ranks whilst different Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) have begun the method of firming up their views for the change within the recruitment guidelines on the matter.

All border guarding forces are by and enormous have, in precept, agreed to the proposal and are within the means of finalising their respective codecs to recruit transgender candidates of their ranks at officer stage — Senior MHA official
A senior official in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the biggest among the many paramilitary outfits, mentioned, “We fully value the spirit of the order of the Supreme Court on transgenders. We already have a gender neutral work environment. In view of the impending policy guidelines of the MHA, we shall make it further compatible as per the need.”
Similarly, within the Border Security Force (BSF), an official mentioned the safety outfit had already communicated their consent for recruiting transgender candidates in its ranks on the officer stage (Assistant Commandant-AC). “The consent was sent soon after receiving the communication from the MHA around 2019 yearend,” he mentioned.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have already put in place the method of firming up their opinion. The two forces have written to their subject formations to elicit their opinion on the problem of transgender recruitment.
In a communication to the CAPFs, the MHA has sought their views.
