College pupil attacked by carjackers dies in Noida

A 24-year-old faculty pupil succumbed to accidents a day after unidentified assailants allegedly robbed his automobile, police mentioned on Sunday.

Akshay Kalra was discovered with extreme accidents on his head by a police patrolling group in Sector 62 right here on Thursday night time. Before falling unconscious, he had informed the police that he obtained injured whereas resisting the assailants, they mentioned.

“He was rushed to a nearby private hospital and his family was informed. He passed away during treatment on Friday night,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Noida, Ranvijay Singh mentioned.

“Multiple police teams are working on the case. We have got some clues but cannot share with the press right now. The details would be shared at appropriate time. The case will be worked out soon,” he mentioned.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Noida, Rajesh S mentioned Kalra, who studied at a city-based non-public college, had gone out of his home for a brief drive in his Hyundai Creta on Thursday night time and was maybe hit by a “blunt object” within the head by the carjackers.

“It is, however, not clear whether the incident took place out of some personal enmity or robbing the car was the sole objective behind it,” the DCP had mentioned.

An FIR has been lodged on the native Sector 58 Police Station and additional investigation is underway. — PTI
