Cabinet nod for improvement of reasonably priced rental housing complexes for city migrants, poor


New Delhi, July 8

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday authorized improvement of Affordable Rental Housing Complexes for city migrants and poor as a sub-scheme below the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban, the federal government mentioned.

As a part of the scheme, current vacant government-funded housing complexes can be transformed into Affordable Rental Housing Complex (ARHC).

An expenditure of Rs 600 crore is estimated within the type of “technology innovation grant”, an official spokesperson mentioned on Twitter after the Cabinet assembly.

He unhappy three lakh beneficiaries can be lined initially. The complexes will revert to city native our bodies (ULBs) after 25 years to restart the following cycle. — PTI
