The BJP is launching a ‘kisan jagran abhiyan’ to counter the “Congress-led ‘dushprachar (propaganda)” against the three agriculture Acts.
Apprising about the decision following the first meeting of the newly-constituted team of office-bearers of party chief JP Nadda, general secretary Dushyant Gautam claimed “farmers across the country are celebrating except one odd state because of Congress’ politics for narrow political gains”.
“We will take our ‘abhiyan’ to the grass roots and tell each and everyone how the Congress earlier supported the provisions and is now objecting for personal gains just like it had in the case of GST,” said Gautam.
Meanwhile, on a day the NDA announced seat-sharing formula for the upcoming polls in Bihar, Guatam said the coalition would “definitely win the state and also do well in the by-elections to the 58 Assembly constituencies across the country, including Madya Pradesh”.
“We also discussed in detail Assembly elections next year in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Puducherry and Kerala. We will form the next government in all the five states, including West Bengal,” he said.
Regarding Chirag Paswan-led LJP using the photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on its election posters, Gautam said PM Modi was a national leader and anyone can use his photograph.
“If Congress also wants to use his photograph why should we have any objection,” he said. “The LJP must be having their own reason (for supporting the Prime Minister),” he added.
Regarding the Hathras incident, Gautam said the sad and unfortunate incident should be condemned by all but there should also be “no pick and choose” on such incidents.
“Crimes against dalits, women, poor should be condemned in whichever state, under whichever government, they happen. Whether they are in UP, Rajasthan, Kerala or MP, which is a state ruled by the BJP, they should be condemned but it hurts when there is pick and choose on such incidents, their (opposition parties) love of dalits becomes dangerous for society and the country,” said Gautam.
Meanwhile, the newly constituted Team Nadda thanked PM Modi for steering the country out of the difficult corona period and turning the big challenge into an opportunity for the country.
