Senior BJP chief Debendra Nath Ray was discovered hanging close to his dwelling in Hemtabad space of North Dinajpur district on Monday morning, police sources mentioned.

“Ray was found hanging near a shop at Hemtabad area this (Monday) morning. We have started an investigation,” a senior district police officer mentioned.

Ray had contested and gained the Hemtabad meeting phase — a reserved seat for Scheduled Castes — on a CPI(M) ticket however had converted to the BJP final yr after the Lok Sabha polls. PTI
