New Delhi: The current crisis in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) got further complicated on Saturday after all three members of its election committee — Jaideep Gupta and the other two members Harin P Raval and Nakul Dewan — resigned on Saturday. Former SCBA president and senior advocate Vikas Singh has sought judicial intervention of Chief Justice of India SA Bobde to resolve the deadlock over electing a new SCBA executive committee after resignation of Dushyant Dave as the Bar body chief. 89 get bail in Palghar case

Thane: A special court in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Saturday granted bail to 89 accused in the Palghar mob lynching case, in which two sadhus and their driver were killed. A total of 201 persons have been arrested in the case, of which 75 main accused are in jail. Special public prosecutor Satish Maneshinde appeared for the prosecution, while advocate PN Ojha appeared for the family of the sadhus. PTI
