Kolkata, July 12
A Border Security Force (BSF) patrol social gathering intercepted a Bangladeshi lady and her little one as they had been making an attempt to cross over to the neighbouring nation at Gojadanga outpost, a spokesman of the paramilitary power stated on Sunday.
The border guards noticed the Bangladeshi nationwide, her two-year-old little one and one other lady once they had been approaching the Gojadanga submit in North 24 Parganas district at three pm on Saturday, he stated.
When intercepted by jawans of the South Bengal frontier of BSF, the lady stated that she supposed to cross the border illegally with the assistance of a tout, who was accompanying them.
The lady admitted that she had entered India six months in the past and had put up with a relative in North 24 Parganas district.
“The possibility of human trafficking cannot be ruled out,” the spokesman stated.
The tout was apprehended and the Bangladeshi nationwide and her little one had been handed over to Basirhat police station, he stated. PTI
