Bangaldeshi smuggler killed alongside India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal: BSF

A Bangladeshi smuggler has been shot lifeless by Border Security Force (BSF) troops alongside the India-Bangladesh worldwide border in West Bengal, officers mentioned on Sunday.

The man was killed by a BSF celebration close to the Gopalpur publish of the border power in Malda district of the state on Saturday night, they mentioned.

He was attempting to smuggle Phensedyl bottles. At least 75 bottles of the cough syrup have been seized from his possession, the officers mentioned.

Phensedyl is a codeine-based cough syrup and abused as an intoxicant within the neighbouring nation that follows liquor prohibition. It is abused by kids and is “consumed in large quantity against the recommended small dose to get a kick”, in response to a current BSF report. PTI
