A fifth man has been arrested in reference to the homicide of a candy store proprietor over a month in the past in Chirori space of Ghaziabad, police mentioned on Friday.
The accused, Surender, who has aliases of Chidiya and Ajit, is a resident of Khadkhadi village within the district, they mentioned.
The homicide passed off on July 16 when candy store proprietor Manoj Das was sitting inside his outlet in Chirori below Loni police station space, in line with an official.
SP (Rural Area) Neeraj Kumar Jadaun advised PTI that Surender was arrested on the intervening evening of August 20 and 21 from a non-public hospital in Delhi the place he had come to go to his ailing father.
Police mentioned Surender was additionally accused of demanding extortion from a person.
On June 25, Shiv Kumar from Ristal village had lodged a case towards Surender at Tronica metropolis police station in Loni for allegedly demanding Rs 5-lakh extortion.
Two accomplices of Surender—Anil Pachayara and Deepak Agrola—have been arrested earlier for his or her alleged involvement in demanding the extortion, police mentioned.

SP Jadaun mentioned Surender was “organising his own gang and also training youths to commit crimes”. PTI
