An inter-state on-line intercourse racket operating for previous few years was busted when police raided a home in a Kanpur locality and rescued 9 ladies, together with one every from Assam and Delhi.
The rescue was constructed from Naubasta space. The victims have been principally from Kanpur apart from Assam, Delhi and Faizabad.
Eleven individuals, together with pimps and prospects, have been arrested after the Uttar Pradesh police tracked down the gang because the cyber cell discovered a hyperlink posted on Twitter lately.
“The gang had posted mobile phone numbers in the link to take calls from customers,” SSP Preetinder Singh mentioned on Sunday night.
“We have arrested Ashish Kumar, a resident of Naubasta. On the basis of inputs provided by him, we then arrested Raju aka Iran. They informed investigators that the girls hailing from outside the state are being supplied to customers by a broker Kalpana Gupta,” the SSP mentioned.
A decoy buyer then contacted the quantity displayed on the hyperlink. He was requested to return to a spot within the metropolis, after which the crack staff, led by Naubasta police officers, raided the place.
Twenty-one cellphones, two bikes and two scooters have been seized from brokers and prospects. A case was registered at Naubasta police station beneath the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act and efforts are on to nab others concerned.
Investigating officers mentioned the racket had been working for the previous few years and through this time, the accused have been believed to have pressured scores of women into the flesh commerce.
“The racket was being run across India. There was one girl each from Delhi, Faizabad and Assam. We are obtaining details so that their information can be shared with the authorities in other cities,” a senior police official mentioned. IANS
