UK pledges fund to assist children make up for misplaced time


LONDON, February 24

The UK Government pledged a 700 million-pound aid to help children catch up on learning lost due to the pandemic.

Primary and secondary schools, which shut on January 5, will reopen on March 8 under plans announced on Monday by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. “Our package will deliver vital support to the children,” said Education Minister Gavin Williamson. — Reuters
