A shocking clip of an Uber driver being mistreated by three female passengers after he requested one of them to wear a mask has surfaced online.
This video was shared on the microblogging website by Dion Lim, a reporter on ABC7 News.
The Uber driver— Subhakar Khadka—had picked up the three women from the Bayview area in San Francisco, California, US on March 8. The driver was allegedly abused, taunted, and physically assaulted after he told one of the passengers to wear her mask.
Reportedly, when the passenger did not wear her mask, he informed them that he would cancel the ride, and that they had to step out of the vehicle. In the clip shared by Lim, they could be seen hitting him, yanking the mask off his face and even, try stealing his phone.
They also pepper-sprayed him.
Subahkar decided to take a few days off after this traumatic incident.

Following the incident, an Uber spokesperson sent a statement to Lim that said, “The behaviour seen in the video is appalling. The rider no longer has access to Uber.”
Apart from this, Uber offered USD 20 in compensation for removing the spray on the car’s fabric, but they later increased the amount to USD 120.
