Two militants of banned terror group held in Pakistan

Pakistan’s counter-terrorism officers have arrested two militants of the banned Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA), a splinter terrorist group of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, within the nation’s Punjab province, the police mentioned on Tuesday.

According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police, an intelligence-based operation was carried out in Sahiwal metropolis, some 175 km from right here, on Monday.

The terrorists had been carrying weapons and explosive materials as they’d deliberate to assault the personnel of the regulation enforcement companies within the metropolis. The CTD staff raided their whereabouts and arrested them, the police mentioned.

A hand grenade, a pistol, explosive materials, bullets and an quantity for terror financing had been recovered from them, it mentioned.

The terrorists have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Last week, the CTD thwarted a terrorist assault in Lahore and arrested a suicide-bomber of the JuA. PTI
