Taliban return to Doha, stage set for Afghan peace talks

Islamabad, September 5

Taliban officers say a senior delegation returned early Saturday to Qatar, paving the best way for the beginning of peace talks with the Afghan authorities which are anticipated to happen within the tiny Gulf state.

The negotiations are the second, essential half to a peace deal the US signed with the Taliban in February in Doha.

Washington has ramped up strain on Afghans on each side of the battle to get began with their negotiations to resolve what a post-war Afghanistan may appear to be. — AP
