KABUL/MAZAR-I-SHARIF, July 13
Taliban militants clashed with safety forces following a
automobile bomb blast at a authorities compound in northern Afghanistan on Monday, killing 10 individuals and wounding dozens extra, officers stated.
The assault came about at a authorities facility in Samangan province’s capital Aybak near an workplace of the National Security Directorate, the principle intelligence company.
“It’s a complex attack that started with a car bomb,” stated Mohammad Sediq Azizi, a spokesman for the provincial authorities. The assault ended after 4 gunmen died following clashes with Afghan safety forces, he added.
Abdul Latif Ibrahimi, Samangan’s governor, stated ten safety members had been killed and 54 individuals, together with civilians, had been wounded. In a press release, the Taliban claimed accountability for the assault, which comes at a delicate time as violence will increase even because the United States tries to usher the federal government and militants in the direction of peace talks. — Reuters
