Oscar-winning Italian composer Ennio Morricone dies

Rome: Oscar-winning Italian composer Ennio Morricone, who created the coyote-howl theme for the long-lasting Spaghetti Western “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” and the soundtracks such traditional Hollywood gangster films as “The Untouchables,” has died. He was 91. Morricone died of problems following a fall, by which he broke a leg. AP

US newspaper apologises for equating masks rule to Holocaust

Topeka (US): A Kansas county Republican Party chairman who owns a weekly newspaper has apologised for a cartoon posted on the paper’s Facebook web page that equated a Democratic governor’s Covid-inspired order for folks to put on masks in public with the mass homicide of Jews by the Nazis through the Holocaust. Dane Hicks, proprietor and writer of The Anderson County Review, stated he was eradicating the cartoon after “some heartfelt and educational conversations” with Jewish leaders within the US and overseas.
