One of two Seattle protesters hit by automotive dies, different in ICU

Two feminine protesters in Seattle have been hit on Saturday by a rushing automotive that drove right into a crowd demonstrating on an interstate freeway, inflicting accidents that led to the loss of life of 1, whereas leaving the opposite in critical situation.

Seattle has been the scene of quite a few protests, some on interstate highways, for the reason that May 25 killing of George Floyd, a Black man, on a Minneapolis avenue whereas he was in police custody, and which was captured on video.

Summer Taylor died late on Saturday at Harborview Medical Center, a spokeswoman, Susan Gregg, instructed Reuters by phone, including that Diaz Love, the opposite injured protester, was within the intensive care unit.

Police stated the automotive driver, a 27-year-old Seattle man, was arrested on the scene of the accident, which happened about 1:30 a.m. PDT (0830 GMT), and faces a number of felony prices.

“He was placed in custody when troopers arrived on scene,” Chase Van Cleave, a Washington State Patrol trooper instructed Reuters by cellphone earlier.

“The investigation is still ongoing. At this time we’re not suspecting drugs or alcohol as a factor in the crash.” Investigators have no idea if the motive force meant to hit the demonstrators, he added.

A video of the incident posted on social media exhibits a lone white automotive rushing up Interstate-5, swerving to keep away from a van that was parked to dam the roadway and heading towards a small group of panicked protesters who tried to scurry away.

The automotive might be seen hanging two people, who have been each flipped over its roof to land on the pavement. Reuters
