Mexican megachurch chief charged once more with baby rape, human trafficking

California on Wednesday charged the chief of a Mexican megachurch with baby rape and human trafficking, months after a court docket dismissed the earlier allegations due to prosecution errors.

Naasón Joaquín García, the self-proclaimed apostle of La Luz del Mundo, was charged with three dozen felony counts involving 5 girls and ladies between 2015 and 2018 in Los Angeles County.

Also charged have been Susana Medina Oaxaca and Alondra Ocampo.

García is the non secular chief of La Luz del Mundo, which is Spanish for “The Light Of The World.”  The Guadalajara, Mexico-based evangelical Christian church was based by his grandfather and claims 5 million followers worldwide.

Garcia and Ocampo already have been in custody whereas Oaxaca remained free on bail. Messages to their attorneys weren’t instantly returned.

Prosecutors contend that the three dedicated intercourse crimes and in addition produced baby pornography involving church group members.
