Landslide in China’s Hubei buries 9 after heaviest rain in years


Beijing, July 8

A landslide buried 9 folks on Wednesday in China’s Hubei province, the People’s Daily newspaper reported, after among the heaviest rain in a long time introduced floods which have killed greater than 100 folks.

The landslide occurred in Huangmei County within the early hours and efforts had been being made to rescue the folks, the newspaper stated.

From June 1 to July 7, accrued rainfall within the areas of Hubei, Anhui, Zhejiang and Chongqing has reached the best ranges for this time of 12 months since 1961, with rainfall in some locations two to 3 occasions larger than regular, in keeping with the China Meteorological Administration.
