Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, who fell gravely ailing on Thursday after what his allies imagine was a poisoning, was underneath intense police surveillance in previous days, a Russian tabloid newspaper cited legislation enforcement sources as saying.

Before he collapsed on a flight throughout a visit to Siberia Navalny was adopted by plainclothes FSB officers and his actions have been carefully monitored through CCTV, the report within the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper stated.

Navalny, a long-time opponent of President Vladimir Putin and campaigner towards corruption, was flown in an air ambulance on Saturday for remedy in Germany.

Navalny (44) was in an induced coma when he was evacuated from the Siberian metropolis of Omsk, however there was no phrase but from the Charite hospital in Berlin on his situation. — Reuters
