India donates ventilators to Nepal

Moscow, November 8

India has donated 28 ICU ventilators to Nepal to support its fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the Indian Embassy said. Nepal has so far reported 1,94,453 Covid cases and 1,108 deaths.

Meanwhile, Covid cases continue to soar. Russia recorded 20,396 new Covid cases over the past 24 hours, the country’s Covid response centre said. Russia’s cumulative number of cases has grown to 17,53,836, including 30,251 deaths.

In United Kingdom (UK), 24,957 fresh cases and 413 deaths surfaced. The country’s tally reached 11,71,441.

Sri Lanka said it will lift the ongoing capital district lockdown on Monday, warning people to be more vigilant to prevent a possible third wave of the Covid pandemic.

Germany officials condemned the protest by 20,000 people who demonstrated against restrictions in a Leipzig city square, largely without wearing masks, and called for an investigation into how the protest was able to get out of control.

Italy has launches a new aid package for families and businesses struck by the restrictions. — Agencies
