In Afghanistan, govt air strikes kill 24 civilians


Kabul, September 20

Government airstrikes killed 24 civilians, together with youngsters, and wounded six others in Afghanistan, witnesses mentioned on Sunday. The Khanabad district the place the village is situated is Taliban managed. The Afghan Defence Ministry mentioned the air strikes killed 30 Taliban fighters, however added an investigation was being held into claims that civilians have been amongst these killed.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid condemned the air strikes and mentioned the Taliban had no operation within the space on the time of the airstrike. The UN has criticised either side for the battle. — AP
