Heavy rainfall damages homes in Pakistan’s northwest; 2 killed

Peshawar, September 1

A recent spell of heavy rainfall on Tuesday killed two youngsters, injured six individuals and broken seven homes in Pakistan’s northwest, officers stated.

The incidents have been reported from the mountainous Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The injured have been rushed to a close-by hospital.

Relief and rescue actions have been underway within the affected areas. So far, two youngsters have misplaced their lives.

The district administration has been directed to evaluate the damages to life and property within the district.

The Met Office has predicted extra rains with wind and thunderstorm in most components of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the course of the subsequent 24 hours.

More widespread rains with wind and thunderstorm and heavy rains at remoted locations are anticipated in Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, Kohistan and Mardan.

Heavy rainfall might set off flash floods. PTI
