EU sanctions on 20 Belarus officers

The European Union has agreed to impose sanctions on as much as 20 senior Belarus officers suspected of election fraud and the crackdown on protesters and is more likely to put President Alexander Lukashenko on its record in some unspecified time in the future, the bloc’s overseas ministers stated Friday at a gathering in Berlin. —AP
