Death toll in restaurant collapse in China rises to 29

Beijing, August 30 

Twenty-nine individuals had been killed after a village restaurant collapsed Saturday in north China’s Shanxi Province, native authorities stated Sunday.

The accident occurred at round 9.40 am Saturday when kin and fellow villagers had been attending a celebration banquet for an 80-year-old individual at Juxian Restaurant in Chenzhuang Village in Xiangfen County, in response to the rescue group.

The rescue work was accomplished within the early hours of Sunday.

A complete of 57 individuals had been pulled out of the particles of the collapsed two-story constructing.

Twenty-nine of them had been confirmed useless, seven had been severely injured and 21 others suffered minor accidents, state-run Xinhua information company reported. –PTI
