China launches satellites for gravitational wave detection

Beijing: China on Thursday successfully launched two satellites for the detection of gravitational waves into planned orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in Sichuan. The satellites, which compose the Gravitational Wave High-energy Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor mission, were launched by a Long March-11 carrier rocket, Xinhua-news agency reported. Johnson corrects gaffe on Indian farmers’ protest

New Delhi: The UK Government has said it is closely following the protests by farmers in India, thus correcting a gaffe by its PM Boris Johnson, who confused the stir with India-Pakistan dispute a day before. The UK Foreign Office said the PM had “clearly misheard’’ a question of Opposition Labour MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi in Parliament and responded with his government’s stance on the India-Pakistan dispute instead.
