Bomb survivors lament Japan not doing sufficient for nuke ban


Hiroshima, August 6

Hiroshima on Thursday marked the 75th anniversary of the US atomic bombing on August 6, 1945, the world’s first nuclear assault.

The bombing destroyed the town and killed 140,000 folks, largely civilians and together with many youngsters.

The US dropped a second bomb three days in a while Nagasaki, killing one other 70,000. Japan surrendered on August 15, ending World War II and it’s practically half-century of aggression in Asia.

Survivors, their family members and different contributors marked the 8:15 am blast anniversary with the sound of a bell adopted by a minute of silence.

Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui urged world leaders to extra severely decide to nuclear disarmament. AP
