Biden’s adviser checks optimistic for Covid

Washington, December 18

Cedric Richmond, a Democratic Congressman from Louisiana and US President Joe Biden’s close adviser, has tested positive for Covid, the former Vice President’s transition team said. In a statement issued on Thursday, the transition team said that Biden was not considered a close contact of Richmond. The President-elect took a coronavirus test on Thursday and tested negative, the team added.

Meanwhile, US health officials are seeing an astonishing lack of demand for Covid medicines that may help keep infected people out of the hospital, drugs they rushed out to states over the past few weeks as deaths set new records. — Agencies
