What was your first reaction when you were offered Anita bhabi’s role?
I was very excited. It feels great to be a part of this iconic show. And such humble people on the sets, they have accommodated me so nicely.
Replacing someone is a huge task. Were you reluctant to take this up?
Replacement is not a new thing in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. So, there was no reluctance. I was expecting some initial resistance to come my way, which I was prepared for.
How do you prepare for a new role?
I just go with the flow. I don’t think much.
Producer Sanjay Kohli is known as the King of Comedy. What do you have to say?
He is known as the King of Comedy for a reason. His shows and content are great. I have worked with him earlier in Edit 2. There is a certain level of comfort which we have with each other.
There will be constant comparison between you and Saumya Tandon. How will you deal with it?
This is my journey and I have to search for my character in that. I am just finding the character. There is nothing else in my mind. I have to bring things differently and I have to do it in a different way then only I can make a place in the audience’s heart.
What inspires you to act?
The fact that I can act and I enjoy acting thoroughly.
Who do you look up to in life?
That has to be my mother. She is the one who has been the rock solid support in my life.
You are an animal lover. What role do animals play in your life?
They are everything. They are my stress-busters. They are my siblings, my kids. I am thankful to them to have them in my life. They calm me down.
How important is ‘me time’ for you?
That’s a time when I introspect and it’s a healthy thing to do as it makes me a better person.
