‘Shakitman’ actor Mukesh Khanna is facing the wrath of social media after his misogynist comment on the #MeToo movement viral.  Mukesh was heard saying, that women are best suited for household work, and the #MeToo movement started because they started working shoulder to shoulder with men.

Aurat ka kaam hai ghar sambhalna, jo maaf karna mein kabhi kabhi bol bhi jata hu (The job of a woman is to take care of the house). Problem kaha se shuru hue hai #MeToo ki jab aurato ne bhi kaam karna shuru kar diya (The problem of #MeToo began when women started working). Aaj aurat mard ke saath kandhey se kandha milani ke baat karti hai (Today, women talk about walking shoulder-to-shoulder with men),” Mukesh said in the video.

Twitter lashes out at Mukesh:

A Twitter user wrote: “Mukesh Khanna is the cautionary tale of how living in the past glory can be dangerous. His attention-seeking words reek of desperation .He wants to get validated by more misogynistic men & be hailed as a hero that he never was. Media needs to stop normalising such sexist men (sic).”

One more user wrote: “This is the superhero we idealised in childhood. Look at the thoughts of torch bearer of religiousness and righteousness Mr. Mukesh Khanna (sic).”

Another Twitter user wrote: “This man is SICK. In short, if women will step out for work, men are entitled to sexually assault them? If women want safety, they should stay at home. Shame on you @actmukeshkhanna! (sic).”

One more user wrote: “Mukesh khanna…I served as a SDM , Was civil servant former IAS officer first reached our level then do oral Diarrhoea Shaktimaan is actually Bhaktimaan (sic).”
