Learnt the right way to worth issues, says Yesha Rughani

After how long are you returning to the small screen after Muskaan?

We wrapped up Muskaan’s shoot in December last year and this show is launching in December now. We started shooting from November, so I think it’s almost a year. It just feels too good to be back.

What is the show all about?

Hero Gayab Mode On is a very interesting show, which talks about the power of invisibility. The show is science fiction and has been made with a modern appeal. What made me say yes to it was that it has a certain freshness. This character which I am playing, Zara, is very different from what I have done before.

Do you relate to your character Zara?

Zara is a movie star, fashion influencer and speaks her mind. She is a very sorted girl and is dedicated towards her work. Just like Zara, I also came to Mumbai to live my dream and that’s how I can relate to her.

How’s the experience shooting for a sci-fi?

This is for the first time that I am doing science fiction show and the whole journey has been super-duper exciting. I have never done this before. Whenever I used to see sci-fi dramas on TV, I used to wonder how things work. I am figuring those things every day now and learning a little more.

Do you think Indian audience accepts such shows?

I have not seen much of sci-fi shows to be honest, but once in a while, it’s a breather from the normal thing and I would love to watch more of these. If you think something is interesting and manage to grab eyeballs, then maybe Indian audiences will accept it.

How is your chemistry with Abhishek Nigam?

Abhishek is a very sweet boy, a hardworking person. I have seen him working for hours. There is a good comfort level between us already, which is a very good thing. This is his debut and the amount of hard work that he does is tremendous.

How is working in the new normal for you?

I think the new normal has become a lifestyle now. Whether I am going for work or something else, I have to take precautions. Obviously, one is scared. But on the sets, we are very careful.

How has your perspective on life changed post the lockdown?

Lockdown has changed our lives in many ways; one has learnt how to value things. I also ventured into a new business.
