Kangana responds to defamation case filed by Javed Akhtar

Javed Akhtar had recently filed a complaint before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate, seeking action against Kangana Ranaut under the relevant provisions of the IPC for defamation.

As per the complaint, Ranaut has been accused of making certain baseless comments on Akhtar which has caused damage to the reputation of the veteran poet-lyricist. It states that Ranaut dragged Akhtar’s name while referring to a ‘coterie’ existing in Bollywood following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The news was shared by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Twitter. Kangana took to her Twitter handle on Tuesday late evening and wrote, “Ekthi Sherni… Aur ek bhediyo ka jhund” (Once, there was a lioness… and a pack of wolves).

Meanwhile, the Mumbai police on Tuesday has issued another notice to Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel to appear before them on November 10 and November 11 in connection with the case of allegedly spreading religious disharmony through their remarks. A case has been filed against the actor with Bandra police station for alleged provocative speech. These are the second summons to the sisters after they failed to appear before the police officials on October 26-27.
