National Award-winning director SP Jananathan has passed away due to a cardiac arrest. According to reports, he was found unconscious at his home and rushed to a hospital. He was known for critically acclaimed films like Peranmai and Ivarkai.
Reportedly, Jananathan was busy editing his movie on Thursday and went home for lunch. When he did not return for a long time, his assistants rushed to his place and found him unconscious. He was put on a ventilator, but was declared brain dead. As soon as the news broke out, South-Indian movie stars took to their social media accounts to pay tributes. “It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to #SPJananathan sir — it was a pleasure working with you sir…,” wrote Shruti Haasan.
