Extending its gains for the seventh straight session, the Sensex rose by 326.82 points higher at 40,509.49. Jio waives post-paid security fee to attract customers
Reliance Jio has waived security fee deposit for postpaid customers who switch to its network from rival mobile service providers, a company official said on Friday. The company will offer the same credit limit to the customer what it offers to its existing subscribers, the Jio official said. Jio offers up to 500 GB of data and subscription to Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney + Hotstar bundled in the postpaid connection. PTI

Adani Gas cuts CNG, PNG prices in Haryana, UP, Gujarat
Adani Gas on Friday cut CNG and piped cooking gas prices in various geographical areas in sync with the recent reduction in natural gas rates. Rates have been reduced in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Gujarat, the company said. CNG price has been reduced by Rs 1.75 per kg in Khurja in Uttar Pradesh to Rs 52.60 and that of piped cooking gas (PNG) to Rs 25.72 per cubic meter from Rs 26.83. PTI

Govt launches website to support R&D in coal sector
The government on Friday announced the launch of a website for entities involved in research and development (R&D) in the coal sector. The website, which has been designed and developed by Coal India subsidiary Central Mine Planning and Design Institute, was launched by Coal Secretary Anil Kumar Jain. “The website will help in disseminating and promoting the knowledge and research work in the coal sector,” Jain said. Forex reserves at record high of $545.6 billion
The country’s foreign exchange reserves rose by $3.618 billion to reach a life-time high of $545.638 billion in the week ended October 2, 2020, the RBI data showed. During the reporting week, the increase in forex kitty was on account of rise in foreign currency assets, a major component of the overall reserves. pti
