PM unveils faceless tax scrutiny; faceless appeals to begin from Sept 25


New Delhi, August 13

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled faceless tax scrutiny and attraction and urged folks to pay their due taxes and contribute to nation-building.

Also, the Income Tax division will undertake a ‘taxpayer constitution’ which outlines the rights and tasks of each tax officers and taxpayers.

Launching the platform ‘Transparent Taxation – Honoring the Honest’, Modi stated the division will begin faceless appeals from September 25.

“Effort is to make tax system seamless, painless and faceless…Honest taxpayer plays an important role in nation development,” he stated.

Asking folks to pay taxes on account of them, Modi stated whereas it’s the duty of tax officers to take care of taxpayers with dignity, folks must also take into account paying taxes as their duty.

Fundamental reforms had been wanted within the Indian tax system, he stated, including India is among the many nations with lowest company tax charges. –PTI
